Ok, so first of all, I'm sorry to all you (imaginary) people who read this and enjoy it but I've just not visited blogspot in AGES. So, sorry, and don't expect another quick update.
Now, Percy Jackson. I'm rereading the series and I've been in such a Percy Jackson mood lately, it's insane. I've forgotten quite a few things in the books and rereading them brings them back (like the hints at a Thalia/Luke relationship, and how Juniper doesn't have green skin, deviantart shifts perception so much, it's not right). So, I'd like to talk about quite a few topics and considering no one at school is in a PJO mood, I'm having to blog about it to the internet. Oh, and I'm mostly going to be discussing Heroes of Olympus and spewing spoilers left right and centre, so don't read this if you haven't read ALL of the PJO series (including LH and SoN)
1. Piper vs Reyna - am I the only person on the internet who likes both of them?
I'm going through deviantart at the moment and looking at some AMAZING Reyna pictures, but in the comments are things like 'Reyna's so awesome. Piper should go to hell' *not actual quote* and vice versa. Now, I don't mind a few shipping wars, hell, I'm a Harry Potter fan, they're part of my nature, but I feel the need to rant.
Piper is amazing, there I said it. She has to deal with the fact that her memories have been messed up by Hera, so all of her memories of dating Jason were fake, and if I was in her position, I would be freaking out WAY more than she did. Plus, she's the daughter of Aphrodite who isn't a fan of fashion or perfume or any of that, so that would've been hard as well. But she dealt with it, and even though she had a LOT of depressing thoughts throughout the Lost Hero, she had a bloody good reason. Save a dad who never has time for you or save your friends (which she is being told is hopeless) from an evil giant that wants to eat them all. Also, I saw a comment on deviantart saying something along the lines of 'so what if your dad never spends any time with you. He loves you. No need to turn klepto.' This annoys me to no end because Piper's dad ignores her a whole frikkin lot, and as she only has her dad in her life (and Jane, but she doesn't count) this upsets her. She acknowledges that she does it for attention, but I think that she's...well, not in the right, but I don't hate her because of it. However, after all of that, I do NOT think she should be with Jason *cowers*
Now Reyna is awesome. She is strong, confident, a good leader and has gold and silver dogs. I know we don't know much about her, which is why my opinion still isn't 100% clear, but from what I know, I like her. Yes, she seems to be indifferent and doesn't seem to care (in some people's eyes), but Camp Jupiter is completely different from Camp Half-Blood. She's their equivalant to Chiron, and if she cared too much, she would be a wreck. We only see her from other people's perspective's as well, and they're all very new to Camp Jupiter, so of course she's not going to be showing her true colours to them. If I'm honest, I think that she only really shared her secrets with Hylla and Jason, and now that Jason's gone, she just has Argentum and Aurum for company, which can't be considered fun. I think we'll find out more about her in the Mark of Athena, so I'm saving most of my opinions until then.
Now, the whole Piper/Jason/Reyna thing. I like Jasper, but I'm not completely on board that ship. It's like if Percy got himself a girlfriend at Camp Jupiter that Annabeth didn't know about. If the PJO series was the JGO series, Piper would be flamed like crazy (even by me, and I consider me to be ok when it comes to flaming, as I always have reason for my opinion). But Reyna I'm not too sure about either. At the end of the Lost Hero, I felt really sorry for her because I thought that her and Jason were already together, but in Son of Neptune when I found out that they weren't...
Let's just say that I was not a happy bunny. Reyna's wording, and her relationship with Percy (which is...weird) lead me to question whether I like her. But then I remember that she's the leader and she's being tactical. But still, going out with someone just because they're also a praetor of the Camp isn't right (what if Octavian became praetor). Which leads me to my next rant.
2. Percy the Praetor
No. Just No. It is not right. I do not like this at all. Percy is the leader of Camp Half-Blood. Jason is the praetor for Camp Jupiter. That is how it should be. After the war with Gaia (assuming they're alive) they can visit each other and have a nice laugh and play Capture the Flag against each other and have a happy little life, but Percy is not the praetor.
It's annoying really. Especially since the first thing (I think, I haven't read SoN in a while) Percy does is tell the legion not to attack a war ship because Jason is on it. And when Jason arrives... That's going to be full of drama. I do not think Percy and Jason are going to get on after this. Which is a shame, because I thought they would've done otherwise.
I get how they need a new praetor and Octavian was going to take the job if Jason didn't come back so Percy had to step forward blahdy blahdy blah, but if I was Percy, I would've said something like 'This is an honour and I'll accept until Jason gets back. Ohh look here he is!' That's OOC I know, but just something along those lines would've been great.

Okay, so that's enough ranting on my part, but I think I will write more on this subject (ie: Percy Jackson) in the near future as I enjoy ranting, especially about these books. It's not like they're bad or anything, but...meh, it's fun.
